ROASTING WORKS - NEW YORK CUPPING AND TRAINING LAB

Intelligentsia Coffee & Tea is proud to announce the opening of our New York Cupping and Training Lab. We hold new crop coffee cuppings as well as a myriad of trainings for professionals and consumers alike.

Public Cuppings

There is a weekly cupping held most Thursdays at 11am. Cuppings will often range in selection from new crop coffees to Direct Trade coffees and many more selections. These are free and open to the public. We simply ask that you email Amber Sather to ensure that you have a reservation.

Barista Training Classes

The New York Espresso Enthusiast Class is Intelligentsia’s basic Barista training course open to the public and catering to any skill level of Barista.  In a 3-hour session, Intelligentsia Trainer Amber Sather will introduce you to the fine craft of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and latte art.  Not only do we emphasize a hands-on encounter for all students but also indulge and develop our palates by tasting many espressos and espresso-based drinks.  The class is great for new or prospective retailers (regardless of experience) and for home enthusiasts eager to work with professional equipment.  Along with new and exciting espresso knowledge and experience, each attendee will also receive a pound of Black Cat Espresso to enjoy at home.
